Russian antique silver gilt , jewelled and agate handled tableware.

  

An exquisite set of antique Russian desert cutlery in its original case. Each of the 18 pieces is superbly made in silver gilt with agate and turquoise handles. The handles appear to have been made from the same piece of agate as the striations conform to one another. Not one piece of damage to the jewelling or the agate. Each piece is hallmarked for the period 1906-1917. The detail of the silver work is extraordinary with soldiers beneath a flag on the knives and on the reverse of the spoons and forks faces of stags and or goats. Knife 8.6 inches (21.5 cms).
