A very attractive watercolour on ivory of a young woman at an early form of piano and a young man with violin. Beautifully painted and with excellent colours. No signature that I can see although the painting has a lovely quality. The frame is solid heavy ivory with a gold surround or bezel and has an inventory number from a collection on the back #87. Probably German, I am going to say early 19th century but could very well be 18th century. Ivory exemption: 1819MSP8 4 inches by 3.125 inches ( 10 cm by 7.82cm).
